The following is a list of courses recommended by Rutgers faculty for the Summer Scholars Program. Please note that courses on this list are not necessarily offered every summer. For a current list of course offerings and meeting schedules, refer to the University Schedule of Classes.
Due to the intense nature of the Summer Session, it is recommended that students take introductory level courses offered in Session II (late June - late July) or Session III (early July - mid-Aug), which meet after the high school term has ended.
Introductory geology for the non-science major, designed to give a broad, basic understanding of the planet on which we reside, its age and origin, composition and evolution, interrelationships of Earth's major physical systems, scientific revolutions in Earth science, and the role the physical Earth plays in global politics and economics.
