The following is a list of courses recommended by Rutgers faculty for the Summer Scholars Program. Please note that courses on this list are not necessarily offered every summer. For a current list of course offerings and meeting schedules, refer to the University Schedule of Classes.
Due to the intense nature of the Summer Session, it is recommended that students take introductory level courses offered in Session II (late June - late July) or Session III (early July - mid-Aug), which meet after the high school term has ended.
Systematic introduction to physical processes on earth; including earth-sun relations, weather and climate, the hydrologic cycle, earth materials, and landforms. Emphasis on interrelationships among these phenomena.
Introduction to the role of humans as modifiers and transformers of the physical environment. Emphasis on current changes and contemporary public issues.
